"Bonjour!  Je m'appelle Mme. Brackin-Duncan!

I am the French II Teacher at Garrett Academy!  I'm only here during First Block, then I travel to Clark Academy in the afternoon.  My goal is to teach your children based on the five competencies of Modern and Classical Languages: Cultures, Connections, Comparisons, Communities, and Communication.

French II is offered as a preliminary language course that stresses the use of grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure.  Students will learn how to write in full sentences, read, comprehend, and speak the target language on a Novice-Intermediate Level.

I have previously taught French at Burke Middle High School for six years.  I studied in France when I was sixteen, seventeen, and in college at l'Universite d'Angers in Angers, France.  I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in French and Education, with a minor in Psychology.  I am currently working on my Masters of Educational Administration at the University of South Carolina- The Graduate School.  My hobbies include writing, reading, playing with my three-year-old daughter, kickball, singing, and learning new things.

I look forward to teaching your child!

Merci!

-Mrs. Brackin-Duncan"
