Welcome to the 2nd Semester of the 2016-2017 school year!

My name is Mr. Zachary LaCour and I teach Law Education and Civics this semester. I am excited about being a part of my students' lives this semester and look forward to working with parent and students during the following months.

I am after school every Monday and Thursday from 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm for social studies tutoring. Students may receive help on their assignments, make-up assessments, or study for a retake of a test they received a failing grade or missed due to absence.

  • SYLLABUS: STUDENTS WERE SENT HOME WITH A SYLLABUS THIS WEEK FOR THE PARENT OR GUARDIAN TO SEE. ATTACHED IS A CONTACT FORM FOR THE PARENT OR GUARDIAN TO FILL OUT. PLEASE, RETURN THE ATTACHED FORM BY MONDAY JANUARY, 30.
  • Law Education: Students are working on a small research assignment in class where they will be research abuses of power committed by the United States government and then creating an informational poster about 1 of the abuses. They are also learning about authority and privacy.
  • Civics: Students will be covering Unit 1 standards for the Foundations of American Democracy which includes: Influences of government, John Locke's Social Contract Theory, Colonial Documents, the differences in the original 13 colonies, and why people came to Jamestown and Plymouth. The students should be prepared for an Unit 1 exam on Tuesday January, 31.
