Shannon Davis One thing I will always remember and be proud of was Faces of Evil . I learned a lot while making the movie, had fun doing it, and still made a fantastic movie. When Mr. Cady first told us about the project, I thought he was playing. Over time he started taking it more seriously. Over the time it took to put the movie together, I learned so much more than I could have imagined. Mr. Cady knew so much about video production. He was the one who spent many nights putting scenes together. I really enjoyed working with him. I signed up to be a video operator, but as time progresses, I was given more responsibilities. When Mr. Cady was busy making sure everything was right, I was giving orders. I became Mr. Cady's “right-hand man.” I probably spent more time working on this project than working in any other classes. We had a lot of fun and it paid off. When we finally got the movie finished, it was well worth the hard work. It was amazing. We had a premiere with movie posters and invitations. Everyone who watched it really enjoyed it. It was even sent to the district to view. Through the process I signed up for a small job, but it was transferred into so much more. I think this meant the most to me and my classmates. I'm really proud of it. Thanks, Mr. Cady, for making my 10 th grade year a most memorable one. Joelle Green Out of all the things we watched and read in school this year in this class, I liked Faces of Evil the most. I liked it because it was not done by forty and fifty year olds that work in a corporate office. It was made by us. I felt so proud of myself, Mr. Cady, and my fellow classmates when I saw a positive production from us. It made me proud to be at Garrett Academy . Devin Smalls I enjoyed the Faces of Evil movie. I liked the way the graphics in the movie were. The creativity of the whole idea was good. The movie helped me understand the true meaning of evil. I got to hear other people's definitions of evil from different points of view. The sound wasn't scratchy and the color was great. This movie is going to change people's thoughts of evil whenever they watch it. The director of the movie was clear and stayed on topic. The questions that were asked would make you think for a while. The thing I liked most about the movie was the pictures in the background. Whoever got those pictures for the movie needs to be rewarded. (editor's note: Devin Smalls researched and collected the pictures) Plenthyia Walker I really enjoyed that movie because it taught me and others as well how evil really is. How people think that evil is some out of range thing, but evil can be just calling someone names. I learned that from watching this DVD. I have a friend who picks on people and he thinks it's funny but it's evil. Instead of me telling him it's not right, I laugh as well, and that's evil. So like I said I learned a lot from the movie and it was very interesting. Watching the history of evil how Hitler and Stalin did what they did that was very harsh and evil. I fully understand the true meaning of evil. Janee Holmes Faces of Evil teaches you about violence and what goes on in today's times. Faces of Evil , the title, means that there isn't any one races or one group of people that's evil. People in general are evil. That is why it's called Faces of Evil. It shows different opinions of teenagers about what is evil to them. It also asks a question that makes you think, “Are people who do bad things evil?” This film is really a wake-up call to see and learn about what evil really is, especially from a young person's point of view. It doesn't only teach you about the present, but it also teaches you about the past. I think you will enjoy the DVD Faces of Evil . Jenel Ferrette I enjoyed Faces of Evil very much. I liked it so much because I got to work on it and be in it. The Faces of Evil was a '09 Production that 1A and 4B English 2 classes got to work on. The whole thing was about one question, “What is evil?” By the end of the movie, not only did we understand just plain evil, but also history. It was like two classes in one that I normally suck at, instead I excelled! Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini are just some of the “evil” people we talked about in the movie. To get information we interviewed students, teachers, and administrators. We also used movie clips that showed what we considered evil. I learned that evil is a state of mind and what one person might think is evil, another may not. The best part about it is we got to premiere it to the entire school. That had to be the coolest assignment ever! |
