Welcome Parents,

Your son or daughter will be involved in a new experience in Physical Education this semester.  It is a course called Foundations of Personal Fitness.  I will be teaching your child about a variety of topics related to their personal health and fitness.  I look forward to helping each one of my students gain a solid foundation for learning the benefits of an active lifestyle and experiencing the positive effects of being physically fit.
I  absolutely believe Garrett Academy provides an incredible opportunity unique to many other high schools.  I have taught here at Garrett for the last 22 years and I love the Garrett family.  When I am not teaching I spend my time in the lowcountry enjoying the outdoors.  I love boating, fishing, camping, hiking and all sporting activities.  I am a single parent of two amazing young boys.  Kerrington and Troy equally share my passion for the creeks and rivers of the lowcountry.  They also love that I am a teacher and appreciate the importance of being healthy and fit.

I am a graduate of the College of Charleston and Clemson where I earned a B.S. in Physical Education.  I recieved my M. Ed. from Southern Wesleyan in Curriculum and Instructiion.  I have been teaching for 27 years and can't imagine doing anything else.
