Rising English 4 Summer Reading

Directions:  Choose one (1) of the following novels to read. After completing the reading of the  novel, write a two (2) page descriptive essay as it relates to your novel. You are encouraged to make notes and document details relating to theme and characterization during your reading.

Descriptive Essay: The goal of a descriptive essay is to provide the reader with a vivid image of the topic described. By including some essential elements, you, the writer, can more easily convey the visual image desired. As the writer, your goal is to appeal to your reader in such a realistic way that it is impossible to believe you are not in the story itself. The elements you use will assist the reader in understanding your topic. Please use the following website for specific elements:
